Ready Reference Resources Sometimes using a search engine or a web index is a waste of time. If you just need to quickly find information, using a dictionary, a thesaurus, an encyclopedia or an atlas is much quicker than logging on and conducting a search on the web. Many of you already have ready reference software (Bookshelf, Encarta, etc.) installed on your computer. If not, there are a number of excellent Ready Reference Resources available on the web Record your observations in your digital logbook and continue bookmarking webpages that are related to your web search topic. This activity completes your exploration of Basic Web Searching. Before you move on to the Advanced Web Searching module, click on the Managing Resources link on the left side of this page to explore some techniques for effectively managing all the web resources you have found. |
