Advanced Web Research Module Introduction In many cases, a basic search using several search engines, a parallel search engine or two and a handful of web indexes will supply more than enough information to get you started on your web research projects. In fact, it may supply too much information. Isnt it ironic that we have moved from "I cant find anything on this topic!" to "What am I going to do with all this information?" in such a short time. In this next module of the course you will develop enhanced search strategies that will make your web searching more productive. The topics you will cover include:
You may continue to use the topic you researched in the basic web searching module or if you feel you have exhausted your original search topic, select a new topic for this activity. Save the bookmarks you have collected in the web directory/folder on your hard disk and delete the bookmarks so you can start with an empty bookmarks list. (Hint: Be sure to select a new name for the bookmarks so you dont accidentally overwrite any other bookmark lists you saved to the web directory/folder.)
