Reorganizing your current Bookmarks/Favorites

Using your web browser's Bookmarks or Favorites list is an efficient way to manage the resources you will find in your web searching. When beginning a new web search project, it is often advantageous to spend a few minutes reorganizing your current bookmarks and to create a new folder into which you can save bookmarks from your search.

Bookmarks/Favorites features vary widely from one browser to the next. Instead of trying to describe all the variations, I suggest that you spend a few minutes in your web browser's help files, determining which Bookmarks/Favorites features are available. Click on the Help menu and look for Contents or Index. Locate the Bookmarks or Favorites section. You may find it helpful to print a copy of the Bookmarks/Favorites help files for future reference.

Your computer and web browser are now optimized for searching on the web and you are ready to begin the online portion of the course. You can review these steps at any time by revisiting the Managing Resources webpages.
