Online Libraries

Back in your college days, when you tackled a research project, you usually started by going to the library. A trip to the library is still a valid research technique, even in the wired 90’s. There are resources available in a local university library that are not currently available online. For example, using AskERIC will allow you to access the ERIC database and download abstracts but you will still need to visit a university library to retrieve the actual document. So… don’t forget the obvious.

In this next activity, you will explore Online Libraries. Some of the online libraries will allow you to search the library for information but in many cases, you will have to explore until you find what you are looking for.

Resize your browser window, open the digital logbook and record your observations about the online libraries. As always, bookmark any useful websites that you find. Yes, yes… we are going to use those bookmarks!

Online Libraries

The activity that follows will take you to several of the Ready Reference Resources available on the web.
